With a star-filled squad and money support that seems limitless, Paris Saint Germain is too powerful to be in Ligue 1.
The French league has only run 14 weeks so far. However, PSG has created enormous distances from its competitors.
PSG now have 42 points, after gaining a 100% victory from all their matches in the domestic competition. Their closest enemy is Olympique Lyon, who are 15 points adrift.
“Regarding the Ligue 1 level, PSG passes easily every week,” said Eden Hazard.
“When playing in the Champions League, they (PSG) might think it will be easy. But I think they are in trouble. I don’t want to judge Ligue 1. But the conditions are right like that, when I see PSG, it (Ligue 1) looks too easy,” continued the Chelsea mainstay midfielder.
PSG’s dominance in the French league has so far not succeeded in continuing to European competition. In the Champions League PSG often lose competition from long champions like Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.
This condition is repeated in this season. Neymar et al currently sit in third place in Group C, under Liverpool and Napoli. Thomas Tuchel’s squad will face another tough challenge in the middle of the week when they have to host Liverpool.
“Liverpool are a great team, with three great forwards; (Mohamed) Salah, (Roberto) Firmino, and (Sadio) Mane. But PSG can beat anyone. In the best conditions, PSG can beat anyone,” said Hazard.
