How the match played?
The high tempo game is immediately presented after kick-0ff. PSG immediately tried to control the ball and put pressure on Liverpool. In the seventh minute, Angel Di Maria’s volley headed towards the goal and was driven out by Alisson Becker.
From a corner kick, PSG played the ball well until Thiago Silva could freely get long pass in the penalty box. His header was pushed aside by Alisson, but the referee later blew the whistle offside.
PSG picked the advantage in the 13th minute. Kylian Mbappe’s stabbing led to sweeping action by Virgil van Dijk. But the ball went to Juan Bernat on the left who then fired horizontally with the right foot.
The ball rolled slowly to the bottom left side of the goal, while Alisson was rooted in place.
Liverpool began trying to take control of the game. An attack from the right, ended with a horizontal strike from Mohamed Salah in the 23rd minute, but the ball went wide.
Another attack from Liverpool from the right side in the 29th minute has not produced a serious threat. James Milner’s cross was headed by Roberto Firmino to the far post, but only fell in front of goal and no Liverpool player grabbed it.
The counterattack from PSG in the 31st minute was almost fruitful. A horizontal cross from Mbappe leads to Edinson Cavani in front of goal, but Alisson cuts it well. The ball was then controlled by Neymar who tried to poke the ball, but Alisson was in the right position to secure the goal comfortably.
PSG widened the advantage in the 37th minute, through a fast attack. Neymar passed Mbappe who stabbed on the left side, who then released a horizontal cross.
Cavani kicked the ball, but brilliantly blocked by Alisson. A wild ball led to Neymar, who calmly struck it towards the bottom right corner of the goal.
Liverpool get a penalty when the game enters the 45th minute. Sadio Mane was hit by Angel Di Maria who was late in tackling. Milner, who advanced as the executor of the penalty, calmly pointed the ball into the right corner and outwit Gianluigi Buffon. The first round ended shortly after.
PSG immediately kicked off early in the second half and got a free kick on the left side in the 48th minute. Di Maria’s pass fell in the middle of the penalty box and Marquinhos tried to put the ball into the goal. But the linesman raised the flag for offside, the goal was annulled.
Liverpool threatened in the 60th minute. Andy Robertson picked up a wild ball on the left side and sent a cross to Firmino. Firmino headed the ball, still wide.
PSG had a good chance in the 70th minute. From a corner kick, Neymar’s long pass was struck by Marquinhos in the middle of the penalty box. Alisson swiftly brushed off the ball.
Van Dijk made a crucial tackle in the 81st minute to stop Neymar’s threat. Neymar asked for a penalty, but the referee did not see it as a violation.
PSG got a free kick not too far ahead of the Liverpool penalty box. Neymar fired straight, but was pushed aside by Alisson off the field. No more goals are created until the match is finished.
